The Pillow
A picture book for young children. A granny embroiders a pillow with images to delight her granddaughter and help with her going to sleep routine. The illustrations are a combination of embroidered and photographic images.
Psst ..Have you heard?
A rhyming text and zany painted illustrations accompany a sequence of misheard communications based on the game, ‘Broken Telephone’. Suitable for a beginner reader.
Colour-in Child
An autobiographical novel that explores my past through the prism of colour. Each chapter explores a single colour e.g. maroon, yellow, green, gold and silver. Over the years I have explored different ways to illustrate/present the work.
Dudu, Zahara and Old Man Africa
A picture book suitable for the slightly older child, this story focuses on working class children living in the high-rise environment of the inner-city of Johannesburg. Links with the rest of Africa are made by the main character’s interaction with neighbours from Somalia and by the imaginary figure of ‘Old Man Africa”.
Three Men (and a Stowaway!) in a Boat. A fantastical Karoo Story
A picture book text in chapters that combines an unlikely combination of scientific information about the Karoo, its plants, animals, geology and history, with a whacky, fictional cast of characters who attempt to sail through the Karoo in a boat.
